POSability for Windows - 86% of DOS licenses converted to date

The end-user acceptance of POSability for Windows has exceeded the expectations of the staff at Pulse Retail Systems

To date, we have seen over 86% of our DOS licenses convert to the Windows version. This dramatic conversion rate couldn’t be foreseen on the January 14, 2002 release date.

We continue to receive very positive feedback on the product.

Even though POSability for Windows has only been in use for a short time, it is a stable environment for Point-of-Sale. One of the new features is “Live Error Reporting”; it enables support staff to receive instant reports of any errors that might occur. These helpful reports make it easier to diagnose problems and improve the stability of the system.

An exciting advanced feature in POSability for Windows is On-line Multi-Location Quantity Lookup. This feature allows staff to view other stores quantity-on-hand values for specific products, which saves telephone calls to other locations within a chain of stores.

Another new feature is the enhanced Customer Relationship Management (CRM) capability. Besides basic customer data, you can capture specific customer attributes (ex. favorite color, shoe size, etc.) that can be used later for specific marketing campaigns. The system will also allow instant access to summary & detailed purchasing history by customer.

A recently added feature to POSability for Windows is support for Customer Pole Displays.

Customer displays are commonly used at retail stores to display items sold and amounts due.

POSability will display an advertising message on the customer display when the system is inactive.

POSability for Windows: Reporting

Filtering

This feature enables you to quickly and efficiently see the specific information that you need. For example, instead of running an entire report of transactions to review a specific employee’s sales detail, you can simply specify which employee you want to see. This feature allows you to choose only the data that you need.

Preview

One of the great features that POSability offers is the preview option for reports. Each report automatically is displayed on your screen - this is called the Preview Window. From the Preview Window, you can go directly to specific pages and view them, rather than having to print an entire report to see the last page that has the totals. Also from the Preview Window, you can print a specific page or pages. Again, you don’t have to print an entire report of 100 pages just to get the 1 page of information you require.

Export

From the Preview Window, you can also use the Export feature. This feature will allow you to save the report in a variety of different formats, instead of printing it to a printer. For example if your manager needs to see a certain report, you can simply run the report, save it and email to any destination.

Current formats available are PDF, RTF, HTML and EXCEL.

PDF (Portable Document Format) is used when you want to send the report via email as an attachment. This document format is not modifiable. The email recipient will need to have Adobe’s Acrobat Reader installed on their system. (Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free download).

RTF (Rich Text Format) is used when you want to embed the report in a word-processing document (ex. MS-Word). This document format is modifiable. Rich Text Format is a standard format that is readable by a number of word processing tools such as MS-Word, Windows WordPad, Corel WordPerfect, etc.

HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) is used when you want to embed the report into an email. It is typically not modified, and is the same coding used on many Internet web pages.

EXCEL (MS-Excel spreadsheet) is used when you want to be able to do further analysis in MS-Excel. It is a modifiable format.
